This actually is a blog I wrote on myspace, but I didn't want to retype everything so here it is...the most recent update of Brandon :)
Brandon had his 4 month birthday yesterday! And today was his 4 month check up.
He was in such a good mood. Smiling at the doctors and nurses and playing on the bed thing. He is 24 1/2 inches tall which is in the 50th percentile. 13 lbs 13 oz which is the 25th percentile...a little on the small side but nothing to worry about. Both me and Brian are skinny people and were when we were little too. I can't remember his head size however I do remember that it was just below the 75th percentile lol. The nurse said "that just means he's got a lot of brains" I don't think he has a big head...oh well. When the doctor was checking out his joints and heart beat Brandon thought that he was playing so he starting giggling and smiling. The doctor also gave the go ahead for starting him on some solids. Because his weight has plateau and he has been more hungry lately that is a sign he is ready for more nutrition. So I will be getting some baby rice cereal and spoons and bowels to get started :).
Then came the bad part - shots! He was SO brave what a good little boy I have. The first shot he just looked at me like 'what the heck mom?' The second shot he grunted and looked mad. The 3rd and 4th shot he finally cried. I fed him afterwards and he seemed okay. I had already given him painkillers to help with the discomfort and fever. He was crying on the way home so I started singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" to him (by the way his favorite song ever) and he crashed. He woke back up when we got home and i finished feeding him and he passed out. Poor baby.
On top of today's check up I have been taking antibiotics again because over the weekend I got a breast infection. To those who don't know it feels just like you've gotten the flu. I thought I had caught something. Fever of 103, chills, I just hurt all over. Then sunday night my left breast started to hurt and I noticed a lump. I thought it was because I hadn't been letting down well because I was so uncomfortable. I was talking to my mom about it and she was like "Kandra! That's a breast infection!" Duh. I couldn't believe I hadn't thought of that I had read about it over and over. Now after only a few doses of medication I feel practically back to normal.
Brandon has really learned alot this last month. He loves sucking and/or chewing on his fingers and anything else he can get in his mouth. He is reaching and grabbing things. He completely knows how to webcam. We get on Oovoo and he knows the sounds. He gets all smiley because he knows his Grandparent's and Aunt's voices. I love it. He has also really taken an interest in other babies and children. When he hears another baby cry he gets this really concerned look on his face and looks around trying to find out where it is coming from. When toddlers look at his he smiles so big. I love it. He's not scared of anyone!
We are so blessed to have Brandon. He has such a good spirit that he brings into our home. We are eternally grateful for him.

Hi Kandra, I'm so glad that you have a blog! I love being able to keep in touch and see pictures. It looks like Brandon is getting big, he is so cute!! I'm glad that your doing good! love, Jan (lloyd) Woodward
Brandon is growing so fast! Enjoy your visiting family. Carissa was dying this weekend that Allie was not able to play. I'm glad you are feeling better. Did you know that in olden times a lot of women died not so much from giving birth but from that infection? I had that happen to me too, and it can wipe you out fast. I'm glad you are on the mend.
